Requirements for setting up Direct Debit processing.

A BACS user number or OIN –(originators identification number) must be gained from a bank in order to process in your own right. If you do not have one contact your relationship manager at the Bank and request sponsorship for the scheme.

If you are unable to obtain a BACS user number please make contact with us as we may be able to assist obtaining one, or we can provide a service through our partner company.

Organisations that cannot gain sponsorship from a bank to collect Direct Debits can benefit from talking to PSL. In many cases our position in the marketplace as a major commercial Direct Debit bureau will work to influence a successful application for you. In addition we work closely with an organisation that can provide a solution should sponsorship not be available.

PSL provide an implementation document containing all that’s required to set up including a full description of the process and general Direct Debit information.

We discuss the implementation with each customer face to face or as requested by customers to ensure a full understanding. In addition we complete a plan to ensure we meet expectations.

We link our Bureau to your OIN and agree a procedure with you to process your data, which is then sent to us in a secure manner for processing.

Test files must be supplied to PSL, we then analyse this data. Once testing is completed live account details are provided and processing can begin.

If you're already processing Direct Debits and have an existing database we require the database prior to commencement.

For those inexperienced customers, during the initial period additional support is provided to ensure successful processing.  We pride ourselves on ensuring success.

We then manage your processing, deal with queries in order to prevent issues, and provide all necessary reports.
